Owned and managed by professionals with both personal and hands-on caregiving experience, our team is deeply familiar with the many options available to families navigating senior care.

Our Story

The foundation of our company comes from lived experience. Each member of our team has walked the path of caregiving, and we bring that personal understanding to every family we serve.

We uphold the belief that the art of living well should extend into our later years, and we are committed to helping families find trusted, vetted, and personalized care options.

Meet Our Founder

Jane Mundt — Founder & President

The inspiration for Next Step Senior Care begins with Jane’s family story. Raised by her mother, Maud Pamphile—a nurse who instilled in her children compassion for the elderly—Jane learned early the value of supporting individuals who are often overlooked in society.

Taking care of her terminally ill father after graduating from high school, her caregiver journey re-started in her mid 20’s when her mother was diagnosed with early onset dementia. Through her experiences of managing the complex care needs of her mother, juggling her post graduate studies and working full-time Jane discovered not only the challenges families face but also the difference that compassionate, informed advocacy can make.

Jane’s background includes:

10 years as a formal educator
20+ years as a fitness trainer, pilates and yoga instructor
15+ years of direct care management, coordination, advocacy and family support through the development of family councils, support groups, fitness groups and community outreach programs
Developing F.I.T. (Functional Integrative Training), a specialized exercise program that combines breathing, strength, and memory stimulation for older adults
Writing a curriculum based on Constructivist Learning Theory to enhance memory care programming

Her passion for helping others navigate the complexities of the senior care journey gave birth to Next Step Senior Care Inc.

Personal Note: Outside of work, Jane enjoys the outdoors – hiking, paddle boarding and riding her indoor cycle outdoors. She has a love for Pilates, plant-based nutrition and spending time with her husband, daughter and dog.

Meet Our Founder

Keith Mundt — Co-Director of Programs

Keith has always carried a deep respect for elders. As an artist, he honored World War II veterans by creating museum-quality replicas of their planes, an experience that shaped his commitment to service. He joined Next Step in 2017 and co leads with Jane and the team to support the independence, dignity and the pursuit of humor in the midst of walking out life’s next steps.

After meeting Jane and joining NSSC, Keith earned certification as a personal trainer and now co-leads programs, teaching group classes and working directly with seniors one-on-one.

His role includes:

Leading fitness and wellness classes for seniors
Providing personal training to support independence and mobility
Customizing viable Home Safety Plans
Directing community outreach programs
Supporting families with a compassionate, hands-on approach

Personal Note: Keith enjoys surfing, spending time with his daughter, and taking his classic car out for a drive.

Next Step Senior Care is wonderful! They are the "perfect" resource for finding top rated facilities for your elderly loved one. We were not happy with the original senior home we found on our own, and it also turns out that it was documented as a bad facility with serious complaints and infractions filed with the state. Next Step Senior Care helped me relocate my Mom out of that bad senior home, and into a "top rated" senior care home. Next Step Senior Care has been a wealth of knowledge and an absolute God sent! We are extremely happy with our current senior care home they found for us, and also helped us again with recommending an excellent hospice company for my mother's unique health care needs. I am forever grateful...thank you Next Step!

Jane was a fantastic trainer for both exercise and breathing techniques. She offered a lot of resources both graphic and material I could listen to, to practice my breathing. The nice thing is that there has been a lot of carryover. After eight weeks of training, two months later I am still using the exercises and the breathing techniques. I find I have ways to make progress with the techniques which Jane introduced. Reaching my goals is a continuous process, but I now have the tools to attain them.
